“Improving traction and pulling power for your self-propelled lawnmower is our goal”
By giving the stock wheels a cover that adds deep treads you will increase the traction of the lawnmower. So at the end of the day, we want to enhance the grip of your lawnmower wheels and achieve better traction for your lawnmower wheels.
Therefore a deeper tread pattern for self-propelled lawnmower wheels help the engine transfer its potential power to the ground. This will get better traction for your lawnmower wheels and stop slipping mower wheels. The treaded wheel cover includes a base body, having an inside and a deep treaded second side consisting of 1 inch wide tread patterns. The inside of the wheel cover is smooth and attached using screws to the lawn mower wheel. The thick and wide treaded outside of the wheel cover is exposed to the ground. This vastly improves traction between the wheels and the ground. Thereby improving the performance of the self-propelled lawn mower.
The main improvements are a faster lawnmower with stronger pulling power. To achieve this improved performance get the most affordable lawnmower upgrade money can buy. All you need to do is try it once and you will instantly understand this vast improvement in mowing your yard. A great side effect is an improvement in the maneuverability of your lawnmower on slopes and hills.
Another important factor is the material it’s made from. The filament is known as PLA+. So after extensive testing of 3D printers to manufacture the wheels using plant-based plastic (PLA+) this was the final choice. The choice of manufacturing this way is to ensure that no Green Gripper will outlive its use. So we know PLA+ is a bio-degradable plastic that has strength but not excessive longevity. You will never find a Green Gripper that can survive as trash in the ocean.

Here is a 5-step process to measure your lawn mower wheel to determine the correct Green Gripper size:
- Prepare the Mower and Wheel: Park your lawn mower on a flat, level surface and ensure the engine is off and cool. Clean any mud, grass, or debris from the tire and wheel that might interfere with an accurate measurement.
- Locate the Outer Edge: Identify the outermost edge of the tire tread. This is the point you will measure from to ensure the Green Gripper fits over the entire wheel.
- Measure the Diameter: Using a tape measure, ruler, or calipers, measure the total diameter of the wheel from the outer edge of the tire tread on one side directly across the center to the outer edge of the tire tread on the opposite side. Ensure your measurement goes through the exact center of the wheel hub for accuracy.
- Record Your Measurement: Note down the measurement in inches. It’s helpful to measure a couple of times to ensure consistency.
- Determine Green Gripper Size: Compare your recorded measurement to the available Green Gripper sizes.
- If your wheel measures approximately 7 inches in diameter, you’ll need the 7-inch Green Gripper. NOT AVAILIBLE YET
- If your wheel measures approximately 8 inches in diameter, you’ll need the 8-inch Green Gripper.
- If your wheel measures approximately 9 inches in diameter, you’ll need the 9-inch Green Gripper.

Green Grippers: 3D-Printed Wheel Attachments For Improving Traction for Self-Propelled Lawn Mower Wheels
The Green Gripper is a segmented treaded ring that helps get better grip for your lawn mower wheels. They come in Safety Orange, Safety Green and Black.
Its form is characterized by a series of rectangular quarter inch high blocks or treads that are spaced evenly at 1 inch spacing around its circumference, creating a wide and deep tread or crenellated profile.
These blocks protrude .25 inches outward from the ring’s circular base to get great traction without damaging your grass. The ring is open on one side, and is designed to be fitted around a lawnmowers drive wheel. 7 to 15 circular cut-out holes are on the surface of the ring. They are evenly placed for screws to attach the Green Gripper to your stock lawn mower wheel.
The overall texture is plastic 3D printed PLA+. The PLA has some flexibility, though it maintains a generally rigid circular shape. The edges of the design are sharply defined for better traction on grass and other rugged surfaces. They can handle standard to hard impacts with its flexibility and strength.
Why I can’t put chains on my self-propelled lawn mower wheels to get traction.
Using chains on your self-propelled lawn mower wheels can lead to some challenges due to the mower’s design. Here are a few friendly reminders on why chains might not be the best choice:
Drive System Interference: Self-propelled mowers use gears or belts to move the wheels. Chains can be bulky and might get in the way of these important parts, which could lead to issues.
Self-Propel Effectiveness: Chains may limit how well the self-propel system works, possibly slowing down the mower or reducing its pulling power.
Potential for Damage: Chains might scrape against the mower’s body or other components, leading to wear and tear over time.
Installation Complexity: Putting chains on self-propelled wheels can be tricky because of tight spaces and the need to keep everything working smoothly.
Lawn Safety: Chains can be tough on your lawn, especially when turning or on dry ground. This could cause extra damage, particularly with the added force from the self-propelled system.
Instead of using chains, consider these alternative options to enhance traction on your self-propelled mower:

Why Your Self-Propelled Mower Isn't Pulling in Deep Grass: A Troubleshooting Guide
Worn Tread: Over time, the tread on your lawn mower’s front or rear drive wheels can wear down, reducing their traction. Adding Green Grippers is a simple solution. You will get maximum performance after this easy install.
Loose Drive Belt: The drive belt transmits power from the engine to the drive wheel or drive wheels. So a loose belt reduces power transfer, therefore making the mower struggle to move forward. If it is already tight, add some traction to the wheels. Take full advantage of the mowers power by adding some deep tread Green Grippers.
Worn Gears: The gears in the mower’s wheel drive, especially those connected to the drive-wheel or drive wheels, can wear out over time. So this can reduce traction which makes pushing the mower more difficult, particularly uphill.
Debris Buildup: Grass clippings, mud, and other debris accumulating on the drive wheels can significantly hinder your lawnmower’s pulling power. So you should regularly clean the wheels. You will not need to do this after you attach the Green Grippers. Green Grippers solves this problem for you, by using thick tread spacing that don’t get dirt or mud stuck in the treads.
Inappropriate Tread Pattern: The stock tread pattern on your drive wheels might not be suitable for your terrain. If this is the case consider replacing them with deeper and thicker treads for better traction. Use Green Gripper Lawnmower Traction Wheel Covers to add a “Mud Tire” pattern to your your existing wheels. After an easy install that takes less than 5 minutes, you’ll feel the improvement immediately. Use the Green Gripper Traction Wheel Covers to improve your lawn mower performance instantly.

From Frustration to Traction: Green Grippers Lawnmower Traction Wheel Cover are like adding Mud Tires to your mower.
- Your lawn mower drive wheels slip even when they are new. (This is a prevalent problem that the deep treads on the Green Grippers will solve.)
- The lawn mower wheels do not have aggressive treading. (The deep tread of the Green Grippers will solve the lack of traction.)
- Some lawn mower wheels lose traction after only a few uses. (Time for the Green Grippers to help the wheels regain traction.)
- Improve lawn mower wheels for hills (The Green Grippers and the deep tread will conquer inclines.)
- We have a way to improve your lawn mower wheel traction (Your solution is the Traction you get from Green Grippers.)
- Lawnmower wheels slipping on wet grass (The deep tread traction design handles wet grass and steep hills.)
- Why is my lawnmower not pulling its weight? The stock wheels that come with your mower have a very weak tread (So add a set of the Deep Treaded Green Grippers to give your lawn mower extra traction.)

About 3-D Printed Green Gripper Lawn Mower Traction Wheel Attachments.
Sustainable Lawn Mowing with Green Grippers:
The Green Grippers boost both performance and sustainability. Our design offers strong traction and grip. It is also biodegradable, reducing environmental harm. This, in turn, supports a healthier planet.
Polylactic acid, or PLA, is a popular choice for 3D printing thanks to its several advantages. Made from renewable resources like corn starch, PLA boasts eco-friendliness compared to traditional plastics. Plus, its low melting point (around 200-220°C) makes it ideal for garden use.
While PLA is known for being strong and stiff, with a tensile strength of 50 MPa, it has a bit of a weakness: brittleness. This means PLA parts might crack or break under heavy pressure or sudden impact. So the Green Grippers are designed for the wheel Attachments to be bulky enough to handle almost anything you can put it through. After running a year of constant testing, we found the PLA Traction Wheel Attachments can last and sustain its integrity regardless of hard use. Click Here to see the test results and test videos.

Biodegradable Lawn Mower Traction Wheel Attachments
Green Grippers are Lawnmower Traction Wheel Attachments. They are made from eco-friendly, biodegradable materials. They are made to decompose with time and leave no harmful residues. This effort in sustainability protects the environment while helping you during lawn care. As grass clippings break down, so do Green Grippers. However, although they decompose much more slowly, tests from the NIH.GOV can confirm many questions like do they last long enough to do a great job for you and your yard but still return to the echo system without damaging the oceans.
A balance between strength, longevity, and use vs. bio-degradability.
The PLA breaks down over time and this process returns nutrients to the soil. Plant-based plastics improve the environment as opposed to petrol-based plastics. With Green Grippers, you can have a lush lawn and help the planet.
